Washington, DC September 20, 2018 – WC Smith is pleased to announce the opening of its newest tenant, Whole Foods South Capitol Hill, located at 101 H Street SE in the ground level of Agora at The Collective. The store’s grand opening is set for October 18th with opening day festivities beginning at 9 AM.
“We are thrilled to welcome Whole Foods to the neighborhood,” Chris Smith, CEO of WC Smith said.
“Expanding both dining and shopping options for the neighborhood, our residents at The Collective, and our corporate employees is paramount to our mission to develop thriving communities.”
WC Smith recently opened Bark and Go Dog Park, located across the street from the Whole Foods at 100 H Street SE. In collaboration with CSX and The Capitol Riverfront BID, the group invested $1 million to create a 3,000 square foot fenced-in play area for both large and small dogs as well as an Anthony Howe kinetic art installation.
In addition to grocery items and grab-and-go prepared foods, the 39,000 square-foot sip and shop store will feature a yet-to-be-unveiled dining venue with mouthwatering selections from a DC local chef, a sushi bar by DC-based Kaz Sushi Bistro, and outdoor café seating on the corner of New Jersey and the newly opened section of H Street SE.
WC Smith would like to invite the community to a special event at Whole Foods on Tuesday, Oct. 24, when 5 percent of the store’s net sales will benefit Building Bridges Across the River’s (BBAR). BBAR’s mission is to improve the quality of life for families living east of the Anacostia River by providing leadership, management & fiscal oversight of the 11th Street Bridge Park (Bridge Park), Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus (THEARC), THEARC Farm, THEARC Theater & Skyland Workforce Center.
